On March 6, 2023, the ICSR agreement for the Renewable Energy Sector was signed by 16 companies, 9 of which are active in the wind sector. Now 1 year later, the number of affiliated companies has doubled to 32, of which 20 are active in the wind sector. The currently outstanding tenders for IJmuiden Ver Alpha and Bèta play an important role in this.
"It is wonderful to see that the number of signatories to this initiative of our association together with the SER has now doubled. Offshore wind can only be successfully scaled up with respect for the beautiful nature of the North Sea, a circular process and responsibility for the entire chain."
Basic principles of the agreement
IMVO stands for International Corporate Social Responsibility. Through the agreement, companies commit to implementing the 'OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises' and the ' UN Guiding Principles on Human Rights and Business' . Collectively, all participants will investigate, identify and address the risks and impacts to people and the environment in the operations and supply chains of the renewable energy sector. The collaboration aims to provide shared solutions to problems that companies cannot solve individually.
The Social-Economic Council (SER) facilitates the agreement and forms the independent secretariat. Look here for the relevant publications and documents.
Expansion
A broad coalition consisting of solar and wind energy companies, trade organizations, the Dutch government, knowledge institutes, NGOs and trade unions has now joined. This means that the number of participating companies has doubled in 1 year from 16 to 32. The total number of participating parties at the beginning of February 2024 is: 47. The increase can partly be explained by the fact that the criteria for ICSR are taken into account for 10% per recently started tenders . for IJmuiden Ver .
