Vestas plans two new factories in Poland

Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas will build a blade and assembly factory in Poland. With the two new factories in Szczecin and Vestas' already existing presence, the Danish company is expected to employ more than 2,500 people in Poland from 2026.

Global demand

The new factories are intended to meet European and partly global demand and play a crucial role in supporting Poland and the European offshore wind market and industry. The news about a new Bladen factory was announced in January 2024. The factory is intended to produce blades for Vestas' flagship offshore wind turbine: the V236-15.0 MW.

Growing Polish wind industry

The choice of Poland is not accidental. Vestas has been the market leader in Poland for more than 20 years and consciously chose this location in order to secure production in the long term. The country has good wind conditions, both on land and at sea, and has a highly educated workforce. Poland's growing wind industry could become an offshore hub for the Baltic region and the rest of Europe.

Other locations where these conditions are met are also being considered for new capacity.
